Position Summary Under the supervision of the RN, the EMTP (Paramedic) provides direct patient care in the Trauma & Emergency Center. Care is delivered according to Bronson Methodist Hospital policies, procedures, and approved competencies. The EMTP provides safe, confidential, and ageappropriate care to pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients.

Requirements
Job Requirements
High school diploma or equivalent
Completion of an accredited paramedic program
Current Michigan EMTP (Paramedic) license
BCLS certification required
ACLS certification required
PALS preferred; required within 1 year of hire
PHTLS preferred; maintained or required after hire
BTLS preferred; maintained or acquired after hire
Three years of prehospital paramedic experience preferred
Previous hospital experience preferred
Excellent communication and customer service skills
Basic computer skills preferred
Physical Requirements
Regular patient assessment using auscultation, visualization, palpation, percussion, and manipulation
Frequent talking, hearing, standing, walking, and fine motor skills
Occasional stooping, crouching, kneeling, and lifting/moving up to 50 lbs
Ability to move quickly during emergency situations
Good body mechanics for lifting, carrying, bending, overhead reaching, and pulling
Vision requirements: close vision, depth perception, peripheral vision, and ability to adjust focus
Ability to perform in stressful or emotionally challenging situations
